I was trying to explain germ/terrain theory to my 11yo twins. And since we have some pet fish, I used the aquarium analogy: if you have a sick fish swimming in murky waters, you can try giving the fish meds or you can clean the tank. 🤷♀️ they get it. And none of us are sciency people.
Yes, love it. I think we might find that kids are better able to grasp many of the fundamental concepts that we as adults have found so hard to get our heads around.
LOL. Hopefully your subscribers are the kind of people who will resonate with what you share. And if not- at least open minded enough to consider a potential alternative way of looking at something. So far I’ve found this whole Substack community to be incredibly supportive and the trolls are blissfully scarce.
It is a fantastic online community, and very grateful to be here. But like every community, it needs people willing to shake things up to stop groupthink from creeping in. I think the general acceptance of germ theory in most of the leading Covid-adjacent writers is an area ripe for disruption 😏
100% agree about the benefits of shaking things up! The germ theory/terrain theory is interesting, which I never encountered before the pandemic but if there’s anything the last two years have taught us, it’s to NOT trust the science. Instead- ask questions and don’t presume anything! Be open to other possibilities.
Could you leave off with the triggering for a few more days? I read, "Exposing the Darkness" substack. (I think I have the name correct.) Sometimes that's about all I can take. 😮

Definitely. As adults, we have to unlearn all the BS first.
That's a really good example! It would work with non-sciency adults, too.
